Conclusion: An awfully paced, badly plotted, awkwardly written, genre-confused, generally bad romance novel with characters that are all too perfect. Meyer throws in vampires for the sake of action, but it's generally a bad idea to throw in such a plot twist halfway through the book with minimal suspense. Good in places only because the writing isn't completely horrible, and a couple of scenes.
